Saving Hope
High Def

85 episodes - 60 Minutes

Plot Summary

Pulse-pounding surgeries, adrenaline-fuelled breakthroughs and sultry romances fill the episodes of medical drama series Saving Hope. When tragedy strikes Hope Zion Hospital and Chief of Surgery Dr. Charlie Harris (Michael Shanks, Stargate Atlantis) ends up in a coma, he leaves the hospital in chaos and his fiancée and fellow surgeon, Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance, Smallville), in a state of shock. As the action unfolds, comatose Dr. Harris explores the hospital halls in ‘spirit’ form, not sure if he's a ghost or a figment of his own imagination. Meanwhile, Dr. Reid and her fellow doctors press on to save his life and those of their other patients, as they deal with the complicated and courageous decisions that are made in their daily struggle to keep hope alive.

Everything was going great for the doctors at Hope Zion in Season 4 of Saving Hope: Alex and Maggie (Julia Taylor Ross, Gotham) had won the prestigious fellowship award and Charlie, out of his coma, had finally solved his spirit problem. But the celebrations were cut short by the vengeful Crenshaw (Travis Milne, Rookie Blue), and the doctors thrust into turmoil.

Season 5 picks up in the bloody aftermath of the heart-stopping finale and finds our characters in a state of self-doubt. Alex grapples with her destiny, trying to discover whether the fault is in our stars or in ourselves – while Charlie, thinking his surgery had exorcised his spirits, realizes that the ghosts aren’t going away anytime soon. As our characters struggle with who they are, Hope Zion’s new CEO threatens to make cuts that would affect the livelihood of the hospital, its doctors and everything they hold dear.

Erica Durance (Smallville)
